FellowshipsThose wishing to work with the NMG as part of their fellowship should enquire at least 6 weeks before their funding body’s application deadline to ensure sufficient feedback and departmental approval can be sought. Those already in post please contact Dr Holland with an outline proposal for the collaborative work to be undertaken.
Post DoctoralIf you are looking to develop new skills at the life/materials sciences interface then please send an email with your C.V., publication record and motivation for working with the NMG.
PhD FundedThere are currently no funded PhD studentships available.
PhD Non-funded(i.e. we provide no stipend, no fees, no bench costs) non-home/EU students may be supported in the lab provided they are able to cover all the above costings. There are several mechanisms to assist you in finding such money and we are able to write letters of support and preview applications. Please contact Dr Holland first to enquire attaching your C.V. and letter explaining why you want to join the NMG and which 2 papers of ours that you find most interesting. This must be done at least 6 weeks before your funding deadline. Applications not adhering to the above guidelines may be rejected without reply from Dr Holland.
Undergraduate/Masters ProjectsProjects offered by the NMG are available on your individual project lists on MOLE. All potential project students must meet with Dr Holland prior to acceptance.
Internships/visiting studentsIf you would like to undertake a visiting project or summer internship (i.e. the internal Sheffield SURE schemes or departmental internships) in the lab please contact us with your C.V. attached for more details. We typically host 2-3 of these per summer and placement is on a competitive basis.
